Windows XP is an operating system. When you switch on your pc/apple mac the system that boots up is called the operating system. Windows XP can only be installed on a PC/laptop not an Apple Mac.

Win XP Pro, is an operating system.. to me, it's the most stable platform for me... caters to gamers too :) well, Vista can be considered too but not until its SP2 comes out
