If your relgion is not nice, unfair, sexist why not just quit?

Like if you started a job & they mistreated a group of people.

Ie islam...

Has one set of rules for girls, the other for guys.

The rules against the girls restrict them doing theings the boys have no problems with.

ie dress code... no rules for the guys, covering the face... why dont the guys?

In many islamic countries the girls are not even allowed to drive, or walk around without a husband, brother or father...

How unfair is that?

As for sex...

How come a woman is not allowed 4 husbands? if a guy can have four wives?

Plus are not parents using some rediculous notion of family honour no different to pimps as they tell you who you cann and cannot sleep with or date to.

And Christianity. Why be part of something which would not let girls be in the top job. That does not have words like ****, whore, slapper etc for guys that sleep around. With its child and girl abuse record

is living in sin.

Being nasty to gays who have not hurt anyone so logically are not immoral...

Unlike those who burnt people alive for healing the sick.

Why stay allied to groups like that if you call youself moral.

Why not quit in disgust and go join some group and belief with no record of doing anything nasty...

Like wicca, or become a hippy or something

Why not abandon religion altogether? I did, aged 12. best thing I ever did. religion is a set of appallingly bad mental habits.

You have a point. I remember, for ex., on an episode of "Desiginiing Women" in which Charlene's minister was against female ministers. I think it's baptist; I forgot. My mother is baptist, but my sister and I joined my father's methodist church. I attended a catholic elementary school from '75 to '81. I know more about St. Jo than the other two religions.
I still, to this day, don't know everything all three religions believe in.
I haven't attended church in at least ten years, however, I am mistaken for someone who gets her mail there.

The problem with religions is that they are 'governed' by man (by this I mean men and women) who can be flawed and corrupt. So I think it is unfair to attribure attrocities like the abuse of children to the actual religion, instead put the blame where it belongs; with the people who do it and the people who cover it up. As for different sets of rules for men and women; again I believe that this is down to man. Religion in itself can be a very good thing, unfortuntly it gets changed according to people own ideas and agendas.

You rabbit on so much it does not leave much room for an answer.
Some of the things you mention, though, confirm to me why Jesus came to abolish religion and establish a Way of Life.

Religions have not kept up with modern day living but it is the fault of all of us and not just the churches to allow it

The hope of eternal life keeps us from quitting

I Jn 5:11-13
11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
(KJV)

In addition, God has a high calling on our lives. We have purpose. There is pleasure and great reward in the purpose.

Phil 3:14
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
(KJV)
