It's really important not to scratch it because you could damage the tattoo.
One completely product-free solution, if it's driving you really bonkers, is just to lightly rub your fingertips over it rather than scratching it. Your brain basically can't process the two sensations at once, so it forgets about the itching and just registers the touch instead.
Hope this helps!

Dear Ataris,
Those needles went down about (7) layers of skin, you bled some, and now you're scabbing up. If you were to accidently, or purposely, pull those scabs off, the ink will come with it, and you'll need to go back to your tattoo artist for a re-do.
I know the itching drives you crazy, so here's something that can help you.
You don't want to let the tattoo dry out. So keep a good layer of Neosporin on it all the time until that tattoo peels. Keep it wet with the Neosporin, out of chlorine, and sunshine.
Itching is caused by excessive hystamine. Take a Benedril tablet, or use Benedril cream to help with the itching. Also, you could smooth on a thin layer of Cortizone cream, and that will ease the itching also.
If you're in school, you should be able to get some of these supplies at your school first aid station.
Hope this helps!!

If you rub the itch rather than scratch there is less likely chance of ruining the tattoo or causing damage to your skin. The friction sometimes helps. Otherwise try perfume spray on the source of the itch. It will sting when you first put it on, but it's usually what I reach for when I have a mozzie bite driving me nuts.

You may not be able to itch the tattoo (because your nails can dig out the ink) but there's nothing wrong with placing a towel over your tat and rubbing lightly to relieve itching. To stop it all together you may be able to get an anti-itch cream from your school's nurse or at the nearest drug store.

crush up an aspirin put it in some water to turn it into a paste consistency and rub that on your tattoo you will have to carry this with you and do it once in a while.you could also mix the aspirin with some antibiotic ointment or skin cream and the effect will last longer.

You are allergic to Tattoo.or chemicals used in Tattooing. Apply some antihistaminic cream or take antihistaminic tablet orally. It will take some time to your body immune system to adjust for it. If not you will have to get rid of it.

If it's fully healed, slather on the cream/lotion, before you go to school. If it's new, use an ointment, such as A&D, and keep it bandaged, while you're in school.
You shouldn't scratch it, either way.

The more you scratch it, the more it will itch. Allergy maybe, or just put ice on it.
