California really took voters for a ride with this one. They promised that sex offenders, rapists, murderers, child molesters would fall under this category, but instead, they have small time robbers and drug users encarcerated when they should really be in rehab while Megan's Law gets longer and longer. Tell me my fellow Americans, what are your views on this?

First thing any sex offenders, rapists, child molesters should be a 1 strike your out. I hate saying this but in some murder cases like you go nuts and kill someone that killed your child should be considered under spend your time however long and get out. Any kind of robbing or stealing should be under the 3 strike law. Drug users is a little different but yes they should be under the 3 strike law to if they were offered rehab on the other 2 offenses.

The law should be applied equally to all period. If you commit 3 felonies your chances of rehabilitation are slim. You make it sound as though these people do not have a choice. They do, it's called not being a criminal. As to drug rehab, the simple fact is that for it to work you must want to change your behavior, continuing to engage in destructive behavior does not show a will to change. Drug abuse is not a disease, it is a lifestyle choice. Like it says in the Baretta theme "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time".

Thank God I don't live in California! Sex offenders, rapists and child molesters shouldn't even have a trial..they should go straight to prison!

I think it should be three strikes for ANY ROBBERY DRUG, HOUSEHOLD ABUSE, law violation, the only thing is maybe a traffic offense but everything else put them AWAY for 20 + years, who needs them, get them off the street, besides for every three times they get caught they actually do the crime dozens of times and get away with it, so remove the trash!
Oh yea, and molesters or rapist, put them away for life -with no chance for parole.

I think there should definitely be a 3 strike system, and it
should take into account the worst prisoners first and be
more evenhanded, than before as for Megan's law there
should be set sentencing for those offenders, as they are
the worst of them.................................................................
No rehab for those that kill, no matter what the circumstances
unless it is someone who is abused or in self defence..............

while ever I see the starvation strikers the challenge is they're all incredibly incredibly fat. I advise extensive. it incredibly is not undemanding to think of they are going to any harm because it is going to maximum probable help them.

I completly agree with you... it is one of the most flawed laws on the books, putting people in prison for life that don't deserve to be there. Taking tax dollars to pay for prisons, that could better go towards programs aimed at reform and creating more preductive citizens!!
