then why is the bartender held responsible n not the manufacturer of the alcohol?

wow I never looked at it that way I guess because the bartender is their with this person and can see how drunk they are getting.
But my feeling is if you are old enough to go into a bar then you should be responsible for your own actions. If you think about it we teach and we tell people with our laws that they need to be held accountable for their behavior and actions. then no one should have to take responsibility for our actions just because we are in the bar

The law states that bartenders cannot serve alcohol to those who appear drunk. The manufacturers aren't there.

the manufacturer just makes the booze hes not there when you drink it the bartender sold you the booze which makes him responsible for you until you sober up. if you were over served the bartender is liable. and could face some heavy fines or even jail

it wasnt the manufacturer who was directly giving the person alcohol. the bartender should be responsible enough to see when people have had too much and refuse to sell them any more alcohol

Because the manufacturer was not the one to serve and keep serving the person when it was obvious that the person had had too much to drink.
