I am wondering if the fact that i have always been overweight may be linked to the fact that i was always being watched when it came to what i ate as a child and the flow on has been that i now forget altogether to eat, food has become a nusiance and a necessary pain in the rear so i will often just grab what ever but as i said i just plain forget to eat and it seems that what ever i do eat is fully stored - probably because my body doesn;t know when the next meal will arrive. Have i just answered my own ?

Emotions are a big part of being overweight but you are alive and therefore free to choose your future. On the other hand you are like eveyone else since America is now the fattest society to ever exist. But again it is up to you to make the effort to be the way you want to be. The only exceptions are people with lobotomies but those are illegal now.

Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Salt has no calories but makes you fat and burning more calories does not help this fatness.

Reading a book will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below has just enough to know what you need to know. Links page has gov. It's very possible. Sometimes, when you're on a very strict diet, the body oftentimes goes into "starvation mode", slowing down metabolism. A professional opinion would be very valuable.
