I got with this guy just after bad break-up with my 'using' ex. I told him alot about it when we were friends and now, we're in a relationship. And to be frank, I feel he's doing the same as my ex. i.e. he rarely calls me, I guess it could be that he knows I'ma always call him every so often. Anyway, what are the signs a woman has low-self esteem, do players prey on it? how can I make him think I'm confident? I'm thinking of ending it with him, do you think that's a step towards gaining high self esteem?

I would say yes because if you were feeling strong and confident you would not fall for a player you would see through his BS

yes players do pray on women w/ low self esteem cos they could treat the girl like crap, but she'd stil stay cos she's so flattered by male attention (which probably rarely happens, or so she thinks - hence low self esteem) and sees the player as the only chance she'll get at being with a guy, so she ll keep running back to him no matter what. Stop w/ the constant phone calls, let him miss the attention ur smothering him w/, cos ur just feeding his ego. yes, ending this would be the first step to gaining self esteem

To answer your question No players don't go for people with low self esteem they preferably go for someone with confidence and self image they like the chase. but on the other issues that you have girl......... you on the rebound, this guy took advantage of you being week, and now realises i don want her anymore lemme find someone else, i think you should dump that bum, go look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself your'e beautiful and you deserve only the best and will have only the best it will boost your confidence and you will hold yourself in high esteem. Once you've gianed back ur confidence yo will feel like a new person energised and fresh and will be able to find the right man.

You're doing what most people are "not" supposed to do, but everyone does do, and that is, rebound. You need to take some time off and chill. No relationship, you desperate weak person you! Get some strength and get a grip on your inner self and stop selling yourself to the highest bidder in closeness with the opposite sex. Take a break and relax and rejuvenate and stop thinking you have to be with someone. Can you spell "single, confident with high self esteem"?

Let me tell you a real life story (Brief and short)
I was at the Palladium in San Francisco. I noticed the guys were asking my better looking, skinnier friends, out to the dance floor.
I felt hosed. So hosed that I drank a bunch of mixed drinks: Sex-on the beach, a Mai Tai, a Harvey Wallbanger, A Brain Hemmorage, and for goodness sake, I got freaking drunk.
And who came around in asking me out to the dance floor? A bunch of guys!!!!
So you see, being a vunerable chick with low self-esteem can get you a bunch of jerky boyfriends who know you are desperate for attention. And when they are done with you, you're history. Sweetie, some men are just in it for the sex and they don't give a damn about your feelings.
Also note that ending it with your now boyfriend who is a total jerk-wad is the biggest high self-esteem "brownie point", you can give yourself.
Don't settle for wooden nickels. Life is more than jerk wad men and user people.

You deserve better. You obviously know this or you wouldn't be concerned. It is hard to let go I know, but you know what you want in a man don't settle for less. If you settle, you will never be treated right. That alone will cause low self esteem and you will never get what you want.
