Yes, overall the outlook on Vista is good. Much like the hype that once surrounded XP, Vista is on pace to take over in the same fashion as its predecessor. The only thing is that it will happen slowly and definitely not overnight. Although Vista has some important updates including security, most are in the form of "eye candy" special effects. Also, it is very demanding on the hardware. Don't try to run it on a older PC (more than 2-3 years old). So you will find that many people only recommend upgrading when buying your next PC.

it is only worth upgrading if you think you need it. the main upgrades are a new graphical interface and increased security. however considering how much space it takes up and if your computer is fairly low spec, then it will be very slow. I have it on my notebook and it is ok. however a lot of the headline features you can download on to xp for free. for example the search facility can be downloaded in the form of any decent desktop search app. hope this helps ams

Yes it is worth to upgrade. Nice improvement in OS technology but keep it in mind it is still in starting stages and vulnerabilities are still discovering.
