As always I feel the need to put a disclaimer on all the questions i ask in the religion section so- If you dont believe in God, or christianity, good for you, but dont bother posting an answer just to tell me that. thank you.
And now, with that said...
Ive basically been a christian my entire life. I was raised as one so I never really had a chance to "discover" it for myself.
Dont get me wrong, Ive thought about it, researched other beliefs, and decided that this is the one for me. I believe in God, Jesus, heaven and hell, and everything but.
Pastors always talk about being "luke warm" and say thats a horrible place to be in your faith, and I feel like thats exactly where I am. Im a christian, but I want to be passionate about it.
How do you do that?

I think it just happens..perhaps through learning more and more about Jesus and studying God's character and weighing up all things in light of that. It can come through answered prayer, joy at belonging and having a purpose...comfort in knowing that God really does want you and will help you as you strive to develop a friendship with Him.
Like all friendships, you have to spend time with the friend..nurturing it etc.
For me, it came after I had my first prayers answered..there was no way on this earth that things could have happened the way they did withough it being His doing. From then on there was no turning back.
Hey, don't beat yourself up..many of us have that lukewarmness here and there..even after we become passionate..it really all boils down to how much you put God in your life..How many times you chat with Him about everything..like in any human friendship..what time and effort you put into it is what you really get from it.
Don't give up ok....The more you learn and spend time with Him and talking about Him..you will grow and may God Bless you as you walk with Him.

You simply become like Jesus and do not follow the crowd, do not blend in and say nothing. Be the salt of the earth, make trouble ask questions about your religion. Why does your religion acept dogmas and creeds and not believe the Bible fully. If God punished Adam and Eve for not believing one point how in the world can your church members get in.
If God is ONE God then why does the churches believe in the trinity; A man made doctrine
If the Bible teaches you must be baptized in Jesus name Acts 2:38 Then why do all the churches do it the wrong way and not only wrong but many baptize babies that cannot repent of their sins. All power and authority is given to the name Jesus Christ in book of Acts but many churches baptize people in Father Son and Holy Ghost, and if people believed the Bible they would know you cannot base any truth in the Bible on only one scripture; But yet churches Baptize based on only one scripture; Matthew 28:19.
All churches are luke warm and you are lukewarm because you are part of that system. But the Bible says Jesus in not in churches today, he is outside them so if you care to find Jesus look somewhere else. But also the churches are rich and in need of nothing they assume, but God says they are naked and miserable.
You need to study the scriptures and realize God is about to move to destroy all things and there is no rapturing escape because the Bible says as it was in the days of Noah well only one guy on the planet escaped, but all the churches teach and preach oh well we are all going before the tribulation or in the middle or maybe at the end and again I will say the Bible teaching is only ONE man. And 8 crossed over the flood but still died just not in that flood.
How many times do you hear that preached, but now they got books and movies and everything promoting the lies. I tell you Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons have a greater chance of getting into heaven that most Christians because at least they study the Word as a group

my first question would be how old are you? i'm guessing 16-ish? if i'm right then it sounds like you need more life experience. its very hard to apply all that you've learned if you haven't been challenged yet. if your faith and your morals and values haven't been challenged, then therein lies the problem. i'm not saying go out there and sin. i'm saying challenge yourself. do something you are terrified of, or that scares you or is unimaginable to you or seems unnatainable. then you will see how strong your faith is and see just how strong you are as a person. if you like the medical field become a neurosurgeon and work to save the lives of soldiers injured in iraq. if you like track and field, run the longest hardest marathon/triathalong possible and win. it depends on what your interests are, and what your calling is. but when you decide it, go all out. a lifetime of meaning can be built on the challenges you face. and remember nobody in this world accomplishes anything on their own. i am a christian too and i can atest to that.
ok you're 24. what have you done with your life thus far that you are still unpassionate? where has your calling been? what have you done so far to fullfill that calling? 24 is a great age to start making a difference in the world/peoples lives.
also, what kind of passion are you wanting to feel? the emotional happy feelings as in the physical state while praying or singing? or the lasting kind where it consumes your whole life and being. it seems like you haven't found your reason for being on this earth, because to me that is where the passion lies. in knowing God has placed you in the exact predicament you are in for a reason. and you are fulfilling your reason for being here and his calling for you.

I was saved only a few years ago, so I had most of life to make the wrong choices.
Truly you are blessed if you have never walked down the wrong path.
The way I become passionate about Christ is by reading His Word.
Get involved in your community, start a Bible Study, teach Sunday School at Church, there are lots of ways to "reconnect" with the body. Split your time into two parts, mission (witness to the non-believers) and ministry (caring for the brethren).
God Bless!
EDIT reiki mixing in spiritualism with Christianity I do NOT recommend it.

Volunteer your time with the elderly, or help a needy family. Pray for people you meet and see if your prayers aren't usually answered. Remember though, you can't expect someone not to die just because you prayed. Unless you have experienced life, meaning the downside, and seen others even worse off and prayed for them. You may not get it. You have to have been through a lot sometimes to know God was there with you the whole time. Nothing is as bad as it seems, it can always be worse. Maybe being with the elderly and someone dying, you might get an idea of what God is all about.

It is so simple than you imagine just get yourself committed to doing those things you know are commanded to be done in the scripture.commitment is the line between a luke warm & a zealous christian while a luke warm take God'word disparagingly a zealous holds & respond to it in high esteem most importantly you need the person of the Holy Spirit to help you He is always willing to help so ask of Him for help, that settles it.

there comes a time you have a personal proof that god is very real ,from then on you know more than just believing,
from then on you just want people to know that god is real and you are able to testify by that you really had happen.
jesus was able to testify thus he had real proofs by his life experience ,as with the story about the good samaritin ,believe he was beat up and left for dead
that the high priest did cross the road to walk past ,that a sworn enimy a samaritin indeed was good to our christ ,helped when no-one else did
we need only to live our faith
to go into the world with nothing as he sent his diciples out with nothing ,we are to live our faith .

Frankly, we ALL get lukewarm now and again... sometimes the lukewarm periods are long sometimes they are short.
How do we stop being lukwarm and get "fired up" for God? One way is to have a personal encounter with God, of course - that will get you fired up alright. But that isn't easy to manage, I know. The second way that I found works for me is to be around people who are fired up for the Lord. The "fire" is contagious, you see. So, if you want to get passionate and fired up about your faith and ministry, look for a small group that is passionate and fired up about God and its ministry. Be with them almost everyday if you can. You'll catch the fire.
Hope this helps.

Its always God's GRACE to bring God's people to Him.
I'll tell you some simle things. Read in Gospels about How Jesus wants a person's life should be. Follow Him.This is one thing you can do. Its a symbolic representation that you have accepted Christ's teaching, buried with Him and rose again. "water baptism". "Turn away from your sins and be baptized, and God will forgive your sins." luke3:3
Then you will receive Holy Spirit baptism when you ask God for it. Holy Spirit is the one who brings that passion for God, we cannot do it by ourselves.
