yes, it can be useful
But most dope heads are ...... dopes
and long term use can cause mental problems
for people with long term/ chronic illnesses it can be beneficial.
no one else should be using it.
What do you mean "used the way it was {meant} to be used"?
who said how it 'meant to be used', and when did this info become available?
{edit} while MJ is not addictive physically, it can become addictive mentally.
I realise that it is only harmful (of itself) in massive quantities....however, most dope heads use hash resin (produced without any form of quality control and which has found to be cut with _cancer causing_ additives such as sump oil.
Dopeheads then mix this cancerous concoction with tobaccco!!
Recent - well respected - scientific evidence has shown a direct link between long term MJ usage and mental illness. to compare this with the 'reefer madness' propoganda of the 50's and 60's is misleading.

i myself cannot see a problem with any drug being legal.. shurley if somebody wants to enjoy any substance wether it be alcohol or heroin it's a matter of choice..
i have tried many different drugs and as a whole i've enjoyed them all.. i am an addict...a nicotine addict i find cigs really hard to give up...but this is a socially acceptable addiction although the death rate from smoking is incredibly high....
people have this strange conception that a soft drug leads to hard drugs.... complete rubbish!!
and the conception of reefer madness is another falicy.. many people smoke blow and lead a normal life, go to work and pay taxes... if there is no victim there is no crime...
perhaps people should look down there high street at midnight on a saturday night to see a drug, alcohol, being abused and people generally being hurt... this is a bad drug not marijuana

Because it has been abused for so long that it is the only way most people see it, that is Bad, Drug Anti social, Dirty, Hippy, Very few people have had friends who have cancer and other painful illnesses that can be relieved with Marijuana, I do not agree with it being legal but in medical cases it should be allowed, as is cocaine, morphine etc.

correctamundo. Its non- toxic. There was a great article in the O.C. Register ( a right slanted newspaper) how the only problem with pot is thats illegal. Its better than all those pills they try to give you that have side effects like anal seepage, and or vomiting etc..........There have been no deaths attributed to Mary Jane in modern medical records either.
The argument for its usage should be simple and plain forward. I am an adult and I can do whatever I want to my body period.
Alcohol is bad news in comparison. It causes tens of thousands of deaths + a year.
Ask a cop what he thinks is better, he'll tell you pot.

I am not one of your every day people, and there is no such thing as your use of the term some people, and the way you have used it with your question.
How marijuana may help you is a different story, and if you have any experience of how it has helped you may be challenged in order that people dont assume things about the effects of the marijuana.
However your term "some people" is vague, and shallow.
maybe its your experience, but mine is different.
I am an addiction counsellor, worked in prison, served in prison, been a client in treatment centres for addicts, and alcoholics. worked is treatment centres facilitating therapy groups, and I have yet to hear someone convince me or the group that marijuana has helped them in one way let alone many.
I have worked with and listened to thousands of people who once thought that marijuana helped them in many ways, but after some carefull consideration, reflection, and a recall of past emotional attitudes returning to present conciousness they have come to terms with the reaLity that marijuana helped to F**K their heads.
Mnay times I see a young man on the street smoking marijuana, and its usually skunk and he is just trying to find a new perception of his reality in order to obtain a cheap form of grace.
My heart goes out to the youngsters who are smoking this ****,and the long term effects are psychological damage to them and their families.
many young black males have been admitted to psychiatric hospitals because marijuana has helped to induce pscitzophrenia, and once they are in the hospital they are given drugs as a medication, and many of the unfortunate young men carry on smoking marijuana, as well as the drugs, and it just becomes a chaotic merry go round.
The government are abusing us by relaxing the laws with this lethal poison, and have no idea what it really is.
come and work in wandsworth prison for a while and hear the pain, and misery attached to the smoking of marijuana.
"DROP ME OUT FOR F**KSAKE"
