I would like to have some suggestions on a thesis.

Basically we want to produce a unique system that doesn't require any hardware, just a system that will be enough to make the requirements of our thesis.

Our professor suggests to avoid the common systems that involves database and inventory. I would really appreciate your kindness, please help.

I'm talking about a thesis for a computer science course. We are to develop a software/system using Visual Basics with or without JavaFlash.

Our professor suggests to avoid the common systems that involves database and inventory. I would really appreciate your kindness, please help.

This doesn't make any sense to me. A thesis is a statement that serves to unify and describe the argument of a paper or debate. I've never heard of it used to describe some sort of computer assembly or project like you're working on. Some people would call a thesis "a topic". That doesn't sound at all like what you're looking for. Could you give an example?
