Depends on the drug taken. Each one has a different course of action that needs to be taken.
You may receive activated charcoal, or have an NG Tube or E-wall. If you're out of it completely, you may get Narcan depending on the drug ingested. There are just way too many directions you can go in when treating an overdose; it honestly does depend on the drug/drug combo you took.
Most likely, you'll be admitted at least overnight to the ICU for observation, or if it's a minor overdose, you may be evaluated by an emergency mental health crisis team.

Evil,
Depends on what was swallowed, but likely Docs will pump the stomach contents and make one take activated charcoal to counteract the medication.
If an opiate (Rx painkillers) they will administer meds that counteract opiates...not very nice. From what I understand, folks come down HARD, and go into bad withdrawal.

It depends on the substance and how much.I've seen charcoal administered and some get the stomach pump but you could do better asking a nurse or physician.

If you or someone calls 911....The emts/medics will give you activated charcoal....If you are taken to the ER by a private car then they will stick a tube down your nose and suck your stomach contents out
