i am doing a risk assesment on hazards using a foil blanket, i would be greatful for any information.

These are used in survival situations and the biggest risk is stray electricity.... primarily Lightning. These blankets tend to attract lightning when used in storms so be careful in storms.

In a camping situation, they can be used to reflect body heat and are often used as rescue blankets. For regular use, though, their problem is that they do not "breath" and trap moisture next to the user. As sleeping bag liners, it is not recommended. As a ground pad, nice idea, foil side up.

The only hazard comes when you roll over too close to the campfire. Then you become the next meal.
