1) NEVER misrepresent information regarding a claim. It is illegal and can cause you and/or your mom to become inelligible for insurance with almost any company across the board.

2) Unless you are specifically excluded from coverage, it will more than likely be covered.

3) If you are not listed on her policy, that person may have told you not to admit she was your mom because the insurance company will want to collect premium on you if she has not been carrying you as an actual driver on her policy thus far.

4) Each company has it's own underwriting and claims adjusting criteria. You will have to deal with your Mom's insurance company--nothing any of us say will have more weight than what they tell you.

The only person that can answer is say your mom. Parents usually include their minor children driving the family vehicle. However, if you are an unlicensed driver (ie only have a driving permit) and you were driving without a licensed driver, the insurance wont probably get the tab.

Most insurances begin to kick in at damages $1000 and over. So if its just a fender bender, sadly to say your mom (or you) has to shell out the first grand.

You should be covered under her policy. You just have to call it in and be honest. Don't hide anything. The policy covers your mom, her spouse, and resident relatives of the household automatically. Also if you were a permissive user you are covered. The only time you would not be is if she signed an exclusion endorsement saying if you had an accident in any of the cars on the policy there would be no coverage. Not a lot of states have those anymore. Just call.

You probably wern't covered under your mom's insurance so the adjuster made up another story to cover. Just go with it. Each insurance company has different plans so you would have to ask your mom what the facts are. Glad your ok after the accident.

It depends if she has coverage for other drivers your age might be a problem if you under 25. Every state has different coverage.

Not sure why they told you that. Probably just to help cover your butt.

Good Luck!!

If you drive it occasionally, it should be covered. However, her insurance rates will go up quite a bit, and she will have to pay the deductibles listed on the policy.
