My boyfriend and I have been talking about getting married because he might be getting stationed in Germany. We are very in love and neather or us can deal with not being with eachother. So when we were in Indiana at Christmas with his family he said" we will go to the court house if I get the job because I wont go without you." But now it looks like he is going to be getting the job and it stresses me out and scares me cause he will be gone for 2 years. When he told me I stayed strong and I was kidding and I said you cant go without me and he said well you cant go. So I dont know if he is just saying that or if he is going to propose and hes just trying to throw me off. Please help. Let me know what you guys think! Thank you

He sounds serious, doll.
Really think about if you want to marry him or not becuase I have a feeling he is going to pop the question and soon!

Is he military? DoD civilian? If so, there is really no reason why you couldn't go with him, unless you misunderstood him, and he said you couldn't go "right now." During a PCS (Permanent Change of Station), there is concurrent travel and non-concurrent travel. If he has non-concurrent travel, he will first have to go to his new station in Germany and get you sponsored. Then he can get housing and orders for you to join him. If he has concurrent travel, you are authorized to travel with him.

Since he is military, he may know he is being deployed shortly after his arrival in theater (in this case, Germany), so he is probably assuming by the time he returns from his deployment, gets you sponsored, get housing, and gets orders for you, his time in Germany will be just about over, and it would cause both of you more stress than is necessary.

You shouldn't feel pressured. You should feel good when the time comes for you to say "I do"! If it doesn't feel right then don't do it. If it was meant to be then it will happen. Things happen n people change...so you never know what could happen from now until then.

Who says you can't go to Germany!? Why not!?

He should be fine, unless he's going to Iraq, then you should be scared.
