A quiz is shorter and not at the end of the section. Usually after you have covered a poriton of the subject or chapter. Can be a surprise too! Test. It's the real deal. All you have learned for the chapter/subject. Tests are planned. You know when they are.

A quiz is just to test your knowledge, and it's usually 10 questions, not graded % value as high as a test.
A quiz is used to refresh your memory on what you just studied.
A test is a scored and recorded as a GRADE towards your final Grade in class. It usally covers a 1/4 or a trimester or semester or a larger body of work or studies, to test the long term memory.
Quizes prepare you in short burst and perhaps 7 quizes would prepare you for what you might expect on the final test.
Another reason for Quizes is so the Instructor can tell if you are learning and paying attention.
OR to help you learn the material and the way the Instructor states the questions in the quizes, would be like the ones in the tests.
Usually Quizes are easier!!! Fresh information, you just learned.
Test take a bulk of information and time to prepare and study for.

The difference between a quiz and a test is that a quiz is normally a surprise and you are not given time to study or prepare for it. A test you usual know about in advance and you are given time to prepare for it.

Quizes are worth less, while Tests are a large percantage of your grade. Quizes aren't as important as tests, or exams but they prepare you for them and tell you what you need to study more or learn more about.

I even have continuously found quizzes to cover the textile in much less intensity than a try. A quiz generally covers basically considerable factors of the textile whilst assessments delve into the main considerable factors.
