Not if the case has nothing to do with a racial minority. Although I believe jury duty is one of our oldest and most important civic duties, you can avoid it by telling the Court you cannot be fair and cannot render an impartial verdict. But, if you've never been on jury duty, why don't you try to see how it works. Don't you think the experience of listening to the evidence could be interesting? Wouldn't you like to be "the decider" for a change?

Pretend that you don't think anyone should go to jail, you don't believe in the death penalty, you don't drink, we all should be given food, shelter, and a comfortable job we only have to work for 3 hours a day, four days a week. Pretend that you're a vegan animal rights activist. They'll let you go.

Jury duty is important, and it is your duty. If you get out of it under false pretenses you are turning your back on this country and what it stands for.

No they usually like that, ask the judge to go to a motel with you.then make a pass at a guard,lay on the floor and go into spasms.lastly .recite the Gettysburg address very loudly this has worked for me.you MUST do all that in that order, or it want work.good luck.I hope this helps.

Yes. I think you would tend to find yourself as officially a racist in court documents, especially after you incriminate yourself in a courtroom. Every word spoken is transcribed into the record. Why would you want to possibly ruin your reputation unless you are a racist?

Pretending to be anything other than what you are is destructive to you personally. If you would do such a thing I wouldn't want you as a juror, whether or not you are racist.
