The other day when I went out with my boyfriend, he said that I was getting extremely thin and now he's starting to think I have anorexia. I began to think about it and now I'm actually worried. Now that I think about my eating habits and my obsession over counting calories, excersizing excessively, and looking in the mirror everytime I pass by one, it kind of seems like it but I'm not sure. I do feel faint and shaky randomly during the day but I always brushed it off as nothing. When I look in the mirror I notice that I can see some of my ribs too, but I always just think "you can see lots of girls' ribs, it's nothing serious".

I realize that no one can really diagnose me with anorexia except a doctor, but I just need to know what some other people think before I go see a doctor. My boyfriend has really been the only person who has mentioned it (but then again, I'm not very social and he's really the only person I see regulary).

Is there a possibility it could be anorexia?

There are some questions you have to ask your self if you want to stay heathy. How much do you weigh? What would your normal healthy weight be according to your height? How many calories should you be taking in to maintain a healthy weight? How many calories do you actually consume?

I don't see a problem with exercising often or counting calories, not enough people do that as it is. I look in the mirror often as well, maybe we are both just a little vain. There isn't anything wrong with that, it is all too human to be our own worst critic.

Anorexia isn't too hard to diagnose, if your actual weight is below your healthy weight, you are in trouble. If your calorie intake is much lower than your recomended daily intake, you are in trouble. Both, and you are in deep, deep trouble. In any case, you should go see a doctor. If you feel weak and shake randily, that is definetly a problem, whether it is from lack of nutrition, or some thing else.

Additionally, please don't forget a women with hips, breasts, curves, and a behind is sooo much sexier than the board you will become if you are severly under weight.

Good Luck

With your habits, it does sound like it could be Anorexia. You can see a doctor about it and they can help you. Remember that the mirror lies to you. You might think you are over weight and in reality, you are not. Try eating more and stop looking in that mirror so much.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span. No food or drink in between the food and not more than three meals a day, unless u r diabetic.
