We do. I don't know how old you are, but in mature emotionally healthy relationships, generally marriage is discussed, not really as a "proposal" by one person to another. At least, that's been my experience. Of course, I'm still not married, so don't listen to me! :D

I ask men out quite a bit and it is rare that they refuse. I think they are flattered, perhaps because it doesn't happen to them that often. We are still conditioned in this society to have the guy doing the asking. I hope that's changing. Make yourself open to more women, give them opportunities to ask you out. You don't really want a marriage proposal until you've been dating for a while, but definitely put yourself in a position to be asked out. ; )

It depends on the person. Some women would have no problem asking a man out or proposing to him. While, others on the other hand, would not. I'm guessing the main reason would be tradition. Men in the past, were the ones to take the initiative. I think women's roles are changing though (finally).

I think it sometimes is because most women are insecure with themselves and want to follow the traditional way of proposal and dating. I personally feel that there is nothing wrong with asking a man to marry me. If I know the love between us is mutual and he wants to take it there with me then i will be more than happy to propose. Most women just think its out of the question but in actuality its not...most men might even think its sexy and appreciate it!

Some girls just think that if a guy likes her he will ask her out. Many are just plain shy. And there are quite a few girls who will take the risk and ask a guy out. I think more and more girls are doing just that. Fear of rejection is tough on all sides so that too can keep a girl from giving it a shot.

Cause etiquette dictates that men are supposed to be strong and forth coming. Today is different and I don't know why but I don't know how I would have reacted if my woman proposed to me rather than I to her.

Some girls do. It wasn't something that was done when I was young, but it certainly is now. My grandson has girls calling him all the time and he isn't even 16 yet.

Girls do, but its just historical culture that the man does. It's more popular that the guy does it. Basically, if you've found that one girl, don't wait till she asks you, leave all fear behind and go for it!
