I walked into a KFC about 4 hours ago, and have been hearing my grandma's voice. It sound like I'm at Disneyland with her and she's keeps yelling out my name because shes lost me. My parents are on a cruise right now and she's staying with us as a result (this also means that I have no proof of insurance coverage). Any idea what I can do?

Just to clairify, I live in Las Vegas, NV. So the events of this evening first occured around 7:00 PM tonight. I was not wandering around at 10:00 PM in New York City or something like that.

Also, tomorrow when I seek "professional help", would my school's psycologist or guidance counselor do? or should I seek "professional professional help"? I am 16 and any one who hhas been through High School in the past 10 years know what help or lack there of these people can be.

The problem with the insurance coverage is that while I do have very good med. insurance, I don't have an insurance card, statement, nothing to prove to a doctors office that I have coverage. I have never seen a psych., so they wouldn't have anything on file as far as my coverage goes. Also my grandma's, ( who is not really my respoinibility as she is here to watch us) coverage only applies to her.

Maybe... but I would do what the previous person said.. try to get some rest... it may just be your imagination...

or perhaps the food you ate!!

Well still, maybe when your parents come home you can speak to them about it. Maybe you want to make an appt with a shrink if it continues. If you just have some concerns, make an appt with ur General Practioner and speak with them about it.

But seriously... go get off the computer, curl up and get some rest.

Ok. Are you home now? If not, go home and be with your gramma. Talk to her about this.

Speaking to your guidance counselor is probably a good thing. But as long as you are aware the voice is your grandma and its not real, you should be ok. You may just be having a lot of stress about something.

If you have a family doctor they should have your insurance on file, if not your grandma should have the information for your health insurance. ( you should have health insurance- if not your parents are crazy!!)

I agree with the first poster...get some sleep first. Wherever you're at, to see a shrink right now, at this hour, would require an ER visit.

Now, tomorrow, call your psych or one that your general doctor's office refers to you. Even if the voices are gone. You're really only hearing one voice, which you know isn't real and you can recognize who the "speaker" is. This shows that you are definitely rational. You might just have too much going on right now and way too much on your mind.

At any rate, talk to a psych tomorrow, or soon thereafter, if only to ease your own concerns.

It sounds as if you should be at home, with your grandma. Get some rest, and talk over your worries with her. Perhaps you miss your parents. What is the problem with the Insurance coverage? Talk this out with your grandma she is in charge until your parents return. That is what you should be doing. Hearing voices is not unusual, that too should be talked out with your grandma and your parents when they return.

Dont worry about your situation. Many people at today's culture are experiencing hearing of voices. It is because there are people like you who have highest spirituality that you can hear voices, even singing complete song. Firstly, use walkman to mask the voices. I hope you could manage your situation without seeking professional help lest you will be branded one with a cocoo's nest. Even a head organizer of ecunomical denominations admitted to me that he is insane because of vloices but i explained to him his dilemma. And he is alright.

No! Go back home to your grandmother! Mental voices that a schizophrenic (DDD) "hears" are usually so traumatic and shocking he or she can not function normally. You are functioning pretty normally using a computer and worrying about whether you have enough insurance ID.

Sleep is the best thing for you right now. You could be really tired and it could have triggered it. If not I suggest you go to a psychologist or perhaps get tested for schizophrenia. Hope I could help.

You are probably worried about your grandma because, she's your responsibility. Just relax everything is gonna be okay. You are not crazy, it's normal to a person to feel that way because you're worried.
