Divorce does not prevent you from marrying a christian.
And a Muslim can marry a christian lady as she too is following God.
But changing religion means that you are turning your back to God which will mean you would be considered a traitor in the muslim society and in heaven.
If you are in a non islamic country... Sharia law would most probabal not affect you, if you do change religion. Best check it out.
But really, I don't think the Quran says 'put to death the man who converts to another religion'. Am sure it says god decides the punishment..which might be 'burning in the pit of fire for eternity'.But I advice check the ruels in your country.

Yes a muslim can change his religion in not so strict countries while in stricter countries, this action is punishable by death.

Yes, a muslim can get married to people from other religion (Christian, Catholic, Taoist, Buddhist, Hindu, etc) as long as the other half convert to being a muslim, adopt a malay name and to observe their laws, teachings and eating habits. This is what happens in my country.

Muslims who are not in Islamic countries are not subject to Shariah law. They can do whatever, but God is still watching them. The Women of People of the Book who desire chastity are permissible for us to marry (they do not have to convert), but if a Muslim girl wants to marry a non-muslim man (he has to convert).

Peace Be With You

ummm a muslim can marry a christian with out having to change his religion. how ever women who are of the muslim faith are only allowed to marry another muslim man. why would a muslim want to change his religion? if a woman is tempting the man to change his faith then she is not worth having. same goes for a muslim man. hense the reason muslims should only marry other muslims so there are not problems like this. but in answer to your question. being a muslim is in the heart. if you are not muslim but you call yourself a muslim then god knows that. hope this clears it up for u
