What are some ways we can prevent our drought from getting worse in the future?

I'm concerned about global warming/drought and i want to hear some of your ideas on how to prevent our drought from going worse and more tougher water restrictions.

global warming is just a small part of the cycle of nature. the increase of building and the decrease of natural forestation has an even greater effect on the rain cycles globally. much destruction of rainforests, removing of trees and prairies for building towns is accelerating and the drought conditions globally will continue to increase as a result.

Desalination should be used more often. The world has more water than it can use.You just gotta get the salt out of it.
