if english is your native language, spanish will probably be the easiest. chinese, spanish, and arabic are the three languages whose speakers are in the highest demand and will continue to be in high demand for the next few decades. so it would be a good idea to go with chinese or spanish if you want to use your knowledge of the language to help you find a job. good luck with whichever you choose!

Learn Spanish for easier transition from English. Also a good primer to a variety of other European languages, and spoken by a fair number of people.

Chinese and Japanese to understand all those movies you didn't understand before. Chinese has a vast number of people speaking it (choose a dialect first).

Tagalog to really get closer to us, the warm Filipino people.

The only language here I don't actually know very well is Malaysian, so I can't comment on that.

Spanish.
After Chinese and English, Spanish is the third most spoken language in the world today. It is the official language of 21 countries and the second language in many more, such as the U.S.A. In countries like Japan and Brasil, the study of Spanish as a foreign language has been growing at a very fast pace indeed in recent years. Around 400 million people speak Spanish worldwide and the number continues to grow.

The use of Spanish is also growing in the business world. As the Spanish and South American economies continue to grow and develop, along with the Hispanic market in the United States, interest in Spanish and Hispanic is also increasing.

Spanish is the second most used language in international communication, and it is an official language of the United Nations, the European Union, Mercosur and many other important organizations.

Choose Chines because the region that is fostering great economic development now is China. Sooner or later more and more businessmen will be travelling to China to do business. Consequently more service providing professionals and laborers will be flocking to China. in addition Chinese from mainland will soon be travelling around the world to do commerce and to tour the world. Unless otherwise the US will stop their phenomenal growth by dragging China to war and inflicting grave damage to that country by raining them with nuclear, if not smart bombs.
the next language you should learn is Tagalog because someday you'll visit this beautiful country of ours. And Tagalog will someday be a know language because Filipinos are migrating abroad for settlement and work, and as well as to do missionary works.

i learned Japanese fluently, but now that i've been in Japan for 11 years it only got me more English classes to teach. Before that, Spanish, but do you want to live/work in an unstable country in South America (Spain is too small)? The fastest growing economy is China and it will be the world leader within the next 30-50 years. Learn Chinese, be sure you have some other skills (like business, IT) to go with it, and you'll have a well-paying, globe-trotting job forever. i sure wish i did. NOTHING IS TOO HARD TO LEARN!

Well, there is some software you can download, using a torrent, called 'The Rosetta Stone'. I'm sure they have Arabic language tool in one of their bundles. That's an okay of learning. I also find listening to one of those CDs where the teacher enunciates different words and sentences, and you respond the same sentence. It works well, except you only achieve verbal knowledge, nothing written. =( Still good though.

For an English speaker, Spanish may be the easiest to learn.

I would go with Chinese because I think it's cool. You would have to forget everything you know. Also, I think it's a cool culture. They're all great languages though. It depends on what you like.
