I currently have 13. These are Manx cats that I have kept after breeding for years. Since I live on a farm which is located in an un-incorporated area of the county we are not bound by city rules. I also have 11 dogs that majority were rescues. If you have the space and financially can handle the overall care, than the only limit is yourself and whatever the rules or laws are in your area. Your local animal shelter or police dept will or should know this.

If your numbers are groeing and you feel overwhelmed I would say its time to cut back and find some new homes and maybe it would be a great idea to get them spayed/neutered as well.
Check with the town ordinance where you live - some places restrict the number of cats you can own.
It also depends if you own your own home or rent.
How ever many you choose to have, you need to be sure you can properly care for them all and give them all love and attention.
They all need vet care and food - so it depends on what you can financially handle....

Depends on the city ordinance where you live.
It sounds like you are not bothering to have them neutered/spayed, I hope you are not that irresponsible.
So glad to hear you are a responsible pet owner! In my town we are limited to 3 cats, but every town is different.

If you live in a private property, as long as you have nough room and can look after them all, I don't think there's a limit. In my part of the world, in council property, you can only have two large pets (dogs/cats). I have one cat at the moment.

Depending on where you stay, how much food are you financially prepared to fork out on feeding the cats.
Usually its unlimited.
