It sounds to me like you need vitamins. You haven't got the good chemicals going on. Don't let them medicate you, though. Meditate instead, so you can learn to observe your thoughts, and then passionlessly follow them to their source. You can choose better thoughts, which release better peptides and better amino acids, and these effect every single cell in your body. Take him seriously in that you should not accept living your life this way. You deserve to enjoy your life. You owe it to everyone in the world who is not in a position to enjoy their life due to the fact that they don't have enough food, or shelter, or because other people are harming them. Imagine how disgusted those poor people must be at we, who have such easy lives filled with opportunities, who waste it all thinking sad thoughts in paradise. Don't waste your chance, puppy.

Well, it sounds like he is taking YOU seriously. Have you indicated at all to him that you want to "end it all"? Have you ever told him you don't feel like living? Listen man, unless you are totally serious when you say this, don't say it! Counselors freak out when someone talks about suicide because they think they will really try to do it.
Geez, my daughter was having a bad day at school and being the drama queen she is, she mentioned just "wanting to die" to the nurse. Next thing I knew, they were wanting to commit her to a psychiatric ward. My daughter admitted she wasn't really serious, but had had a bad day and was just so stressed.
So, taking him seriously really depends on YOU.

Depends, do you want to commit suicide or do you just want to bum out? I think therapist are quick to label because it's more money to keep a patient coming. If you are having suicidal thoughts I would sugest calling someone you can talk to to bring up a few notches. If your just zoned then relax. Docs don't know eveerything!

It's safer just to take the counselor seriously than not in this case. He's concerned for if you do get upset and what you may possibly do in that case, so I'd just talk it out with him in the hopes of getting to the root of your problem. I hope things turn out for the best for you.

A suicide watch doesn't necessaryly mean you are going to kill yourself, it just means you are being watched, because you are at high risk. They do this alot with new patients, or someone who has recently acted out.

congratulations on your asking this question..!!
The fact that you are questioning your counsellor's suggestion means that you should not be on suicide watch.. Life, despite of its ups and downs, is worth living till its end... and while we are at it, we can strive to make it beautiful and worthwhile.. because who knows? we only live once.. so make the best of it..
