Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span. No food or drink in between the food and not more than three meals a day, unless u r diabetic.

Are you gaining and maintaining a 5-10 lb weight gain? Or more? If more, please, regardless, get an appt. with your doctor as soon as you can. A possible physical, but if nothing else, a series of blood tests. Check your thyroid, blood glucose, complete blood count, etc. to see what is going on. Are you recently more nervous or stressed about something new in your life that is going on? That could also contribute to the weight gain. However, I do request you please follow thru on the blood work. Take care.

Are you pregnant? What medications are you taking? Are you under stress? Do you have cardiac problems? There are a ton of factors to look at, and that's best done by your doctor, especially if you're gaining "water weight" for no apparent reason.

Gaining weight means you are taking in too more calories than you are using.
The answer is simple, either cut down on the amount and type of food you eat or take more exercise.
As people grow older, their metabolism slows down, meaning it takes longer to burn off excessive calories than when you were younger, read above advice.

If you are eating high calorie foods, try to skip that. You have to eat though, just try eating healthy. Such as fruits (apples, grapes, cantalope, are my favvy!) or vegetables.
Another good idea is to start doing some crunches and ab exercises. Try to start walking or running by yourself or with friends, OR If you have stairs, try running up and down them a few times. Easier, you can just go to the gym.

get at least 30 minutes of excercise a day. dont eat fast food. limit your sodas. eat LOTS of fruits and vegetables the chemicals in them help the maintenence of fats, and have alot of fiber. fruits, vegetables, and fiber is key. stay away from saturated and especially trans fat. mainly..think about what you eat! do some stretching, running, maybe some weights.

You need to exercise and lay off the fat food. That's what I did to lose pounds.
