It depends on drowsy Benedryl makes you. That's the "PM'
Some people are not bothered by the benedryl, some need 8 hours sleep to sleep it off. You might want to try a half pill on the nights you know you will get less sleep.

RE:
How long does the drowsiness from Tylenol PM last???
Sometimes I can only get like 5 hours of sleep a night and I don't want to still be drowsy from Tylenol PM on my drive. Is it okay to take it if I can only get 5 hours?

The sleep ingredient in Tylenol PM is just benadryl, which stays in the system for 4-6 hours, but you might have some residual drowsiness when you wake up so if you're going to take it be aware of how you're body is reacting before you get in the car.

You need at least 7-9 hours of sleep. It's not good to drive after taking Tylenol PM and not getting all of your sleep.

hi there, i am a childrens nurse, and i would urge you to get medical treatment. i dont want to panic you, but seeking medical treatment is the best option. if you are ever even slightly unsure about the state of your child it is my strong suggestion that you seek medical treatment, as children can compensate for an illness for some time, and then rapidly decrease. in illness, adults show signs of illness very early so there is time to treat. with children, their bodies compensate for illness for some time, so when signs of illness are eventually visible, children find it very difficult to compensate as their reserves are already used up. medical staff will not criticize you for seeking help, even if it is just to put your mind at rest. and you sound as if you have genuine worries for your daughter. parents always know their children better than any form of medical staff. you know yourself when your child is not right. always trust your instincts as a parent. drowsiness is not a side effect of amoxicillin and neither is sleeping for very long time periods. Motrin is simply ibuprofen, and would not cause drowsiness either. her sleeping may simply be due to being tired out from illness, as she is so young and would be easily tired out from an illness, but lethargy could be another reason. lacking solid foods for a relatively short period of time are not a worry when children are ill, as you probably know, but it is very important you encourage your daughter to drink plenty of fluids. she is at high risk of dehydration. she should have consistent wet diapers as per her usual. please dont allow her to go much longer without fluids. encourage her, even if it is just small sips, to drink plenty, especially of she is not taking solids while ill. she will make up for her missed meals once she is better. it is good her fever has gone, but you dont mention what her temperature is now at. too low is just as indicative of illness as too high. her temp should be around 98.6° Fahrenheit or 37° Celsius. continue to check her temp regularly for any changes. i suggest you take a brief note of the fluids she takes and seek medical help, as she may require IV fluids to prevent her becoming dehydrated or further complications. my main concern as a health professional is her lack of fluids. try giving her fluids in any way possible, a beaker, ice lolly, even from a tea spoon, which may be easier for her if she is very drowsy. i hope i have helped you in some way, let us know how everything works out, and i am sure she will recover soon. its so very worrying when your child is ill, well done for being instinctive, and hope she gets well soon x
