I got talked into getting one about 6 weeks ago, and I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first, but I absolutely fell in love with it. It was pretty painful though, and the process lasted longer than a more traditional piercing because first the piercer has to make the pocket, and then get the jewelry in. Also, the piercer may have to pull around on it a little after putting it in to make sure it's placed right, which can be painful also. The first few days it was pretty sore, but it didn't hurt too bad after. However, be super careful not to snap it or get it caught on anything. Last night my dog managed to step on mine and pull it out. I went back and got it put back in, but it had to be in a different spot because, unlike a piercing, there's no way to just take the jewelry out and put it back in. But the fact that I loved it enough to get it put back in should say something! Another thing to think about is that since dermal anchoring is a fairly new process, it's still in the "trial stage". No one can be sure of how successful it will be, rejection probably won't happen but there's no guarantee. Also, removal hasn't really been figured out yet, at least not from what I know (I know I'm definitely going to have a scar from mine). If you do get it done, just make sure you know it's a big commitment and make sure you find someone to do it who has had experience with it before and really knows what he/she is doing!
