Milk can go "bad" or sour for a number of reasons, so no particular minute makes it change. If the milk doesn't smell like it's not drinkable, or if you take a sip and it tastes okay, I'd drink it. I have had milk last a week or more past the expired date. That date is for the "best" milk, and how many times you get the milk out of the frig and open it, the more quickly it goes sour.

Depends. I've had milk go bad prior to the expiration date. Not too often will we have any left over a few days past the expiration date. But as the first person replied, usually as long as it doesn't smell or taste funky - a week after the expiration date is just fine.

Yes I would drink it. The date that is printed on the carton is the date the store has to sell the milk by. If the store doesn't sell the carton by the date printed on the carton they have to throw it away. It is good for about 7 days after the date printed on the carton. Now that is assuming that the milk didn't get warm and then rechilled and then warm again and so on as this will cause the milk to go sour. If the milk had a funny taste or smell or texture to it then I wouldn't drink it.

Hope this answers your question!

There usually is no problems with drinking milk on its expiry date, that is if it was kept refrigerated (4°C or 40°F). There is a buffer time in the expiry date, being that this is only a prediction.

If it doesn't smell or taste bad and has not started clumping, its fine. Just don't keep it long after the expiry date.

I think it's ok to drink the milk as long as it doesn't smell sour, but I'm a chicken so I usually throw the milk out as soon as it expires.

It should still be fresh and drinkable at least 3 days after the exp. date. Smell it or just try a tiny bit.....you'll be able to tell quickly! I've had milk that was 5-7 days over, and because I have a very cold frig., it was still O.K. Keep milk in the frig.......don't leave it out and it will last longer too. Sour milk can be used very successfully in baking.

The expiration date is the date that the milk should be sold. You can keep it two or three days after.

Yes, it is usually good for about a week after that date. If it smells or tastes bad, don't drink it.

If it smells okay (not sour), I'll maybe go up to a week past the expiration date.

If it smells and tastes normal, then it's fine. If you want to be safe, don't dirnk it after it's expired for over 2 weeks no matter how fresh it still tastes.
