Most persons may not know but when doing online dating try contact persons who don't have pictures on their profile. (Only on the good sites.) Usully persons with nice pics get tons of e-mail and may not reply to you individually. That aside my question is this. Why is it that women are so shy about their weight???
I mean some guys will take the time to get to know you before seing wat you look like and may not have a problem with your weight when he sees you. Other guys,,,,,well they'll like the person on the phone and in the e-mails but when he get's the real thing he doesn't want o get involved. So why be shy about your weight???

I think that some women may be shy because they might think that men only like small women, which really isn't the case. I did the on line dating thing and I put a real picture of me and my weight and took time to email most of the guys back. I wasn't trying to be deceptive , but most of the men that I met in person looked nothing like their picture. They looked worse and it was terrible that they lied and I didn't. Needless to say I didn't do on line dating too much after that.

Honestly, I have not met a person yet online who was great looking who didn't have their picture online. I have met a lot of people who didn't have their picture online, described themselves, and once you got to know them...revealed themselves to be entirely unlike the pictures they sent. I think if a person is willing to put themselves out the from the get go with a picture, you know there is a better shot of them not being deceptive.
Women are shy about their weight because it is a number that just never sounds good. A women who is 140 may look better physically than a woman of the same height who is 120. It all has to do with proportion and placement. I don't think anyone should lie about their weight, if asked, tell. But I also think that I want to know more about a person than that. If I can get to know them and at least see several pictures (never settle for just one), I have enough to go on regarding appearance.
By the way, my weight isn't an issue. It doesn't seem to be for men either, because no one ever asked me my weight while I used to chat online.

Because with media and pop culture, they put a stigma on being thin. However not everyone is a size 2 or 6. No woman want her weight to be a deal breaker on why she cant find a guy. They rather have it be some personality issue if anything else. Why risk losing self esteem because someone didnt like her weight. It's just not worth it

Women lie about weight. Men lie about their age. It's stupid. But to answer your question, SO MANY guys put things in their profile about how they want skinny women. Women take it personal in a misguided way. Personally, I have never lied about this stuff to get someone. My last 2 longterms (still in the last one) I met online. You have to know how to screen, and I have a real sensitive bullshit meter. It is not fair to post old or fake pics. I have a 6th sense and have never gotten taken this way.
I would never correspond with anyone without multiple pics, and not having one front and center is a red flag to me.

Well, because there is enormous pressure in our society for women to be thin. And many many women have "issues" about their body weight, even if it is at a healthy level or they are already thin. We are seeing the same gorgeous women, hundreds, if not thousands, of different beautiful women bombarded at us in the media - movies, magazines, T.V., on-line - gorgeous thin women are everywhere, and these images can make many women feel even worse about their bodies than they already do. So cut us a little slack. : ) And stand by what you say - don't judge a book by its cover, lest you be judged the same way. : )

as me am not shy about my weight am 40 and so many man enjoy making Love with fat girl and some girls do like there weight. and some like to be like stick bet as a man when Ur wife is to sin bear u in mind she is not for u only there will be so many around her ,if u like u can get married with that kind of person an see with Ur two eyes.HAA>>
