Fulfillment of prophecy.

Matthew 2:21 And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
22 But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:
23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

The city was an old Palestinian city Jews never lived there and that is why he spoke Aramaic not Hebrow. The west coast was inhabited by the old Palestinian ppl. Nazareth was never part of Judea in the east. Like Saint Marry the Magdalen she was from the west coast and she was a Palestinian not a Jew and she came from a Palestinian city on the west coast called Al Magdal.

Jesus,Yeshua ben Yusef, was born in Bethlehem, while his family was on a trip. His family actually lived in Nazareth and that is where he grew up. There were quite a few men named Jesus(Yeshua) in Judea at the time and it is not unlikely that many had fathers named Joseph(Yusef) so to further clarify which Jesus people were talking about he was known as Jesus of Nazareth.

Soon after Jesus was born, Mary and Joseph took Him to Nazareth because King Herod was about to make a decree that all male children were to be killed....having heard the prophecy that the King of Kings was to be born in Bethlehem.

He was born in Bethlehem, because Joseph had to go to his(Joseph) birthplace for a census. Mary went into labor when they were there. Jesus lived and grew up in Nazareth but was born in Bethlehem. He never lived in Bethlehem

The infant Jesus was born in Bethleham but was raised in Nazerath and it was from Nazerath he came to awareness of, well, let's say a whole bunch of people on into history.

He was born in Bethlehem, yet raised in Nazareth. Thus he was "of Nazareth".

However many scholars believe that Nazareth was actually not in existance at that time, at least by that name, and the name in the Bible was created later on.

He was only born in Bethlehem because His parents went there to be taxed. They were not from there, neither did they stay there.
It is kind of like when one of my daughters were born, we had to go away from our home for a funeral and I went into labor while we were gone. We went home and our daughter was raised there, so that was her home town, not the town she happened to be born at....see?

Jesus was born as prophesied in Bethlehem and was raised in Nazareth.
