I personally prefer descriptive names for a pet as their name tells you so much about their personality..But then again a pet name could still be used as a human name but still be descriptive of the animal...It just all depends.. I have a little chihuahua named Missy and yeah that name to me really suits her. I also have 2 zebra finches named Beauty and Beast i love their names it says everything about their personalitys lol... What do you prefer?

My male French Bulldog's real name is Harley, but I call him Butters sometimes because he kind of reminds me of Butters on South Park. One of my females' name is Lily (she is the one pictured on the left) and I call her Toady because she had a tendency to get a little pudgy if you do not watch what treats she is getting. My other Frenchie is a 16 wk old puppy name Emma, but she doesn't have a nickname yet (although since potty training isn't going to well she may think that her name is "no no no go potty outside not inside").

All my pets have names, of course, and almost all of them are just names that I like, as being the only reason why I named them that way, except for one: Lucciola, my white Chihuahua. I got her when she was 6 weeks old, on a very sad day for me, but when I saw her, all my sorrows went away, as she brought light into my life. Lucciola is Italian for light bug.

My oldest Chihuahua has a nickname. His name is Fudge, but my daughter(she was 2 when we got the pup) couldn't say Fudge, she said Pudgy and it stuck. He is anything but Pudgy though. We still call him that half the time, and he will come to either name.

When I got my dog, he was very small and cute. My mom thought it resembles a monkey. But her English wasn't so good at the time and she suggested "mucky" instead of "monkey". That stirred some laughs and Mucky it is.

Our chihuahua is Stanly Goodpuppy when he behaves, and Stanly T (which stands for trouble) when he gets scolded. He's my Puppybug when we cuddle, because when we got him, he was no bigger than a bug.
