If we treat him as a God, he is something we can never be and do not expect it to be possible to live up to. But if he was only a man, this is how great we can be if we try. This is something our species has to be proud of. Isn't this one of the reasons why we should deserve the stars? A thousand years from now human beings will be out there among these stars. Some of them will have Bibles; and at regular intervals nominated as Sundays, some of them will be doing things and saying things in remembrance of Jesus of Nazareth.
Does this inspire you? Does it irritate you, or fill you with despair? Or does it amuse you?

Jesus Christ is not God. Many religions incorrectly teach this. What the Bible teaches is that he was created by God and he is God's Son.

Colossians 1:15 calls Jesus: "the first born of all creation;" , he was created by God.

John 3:16,17 says that God sent "his only-begotten Son" to the earth. He was sent by his Father, God. (John 5:23)

Jesus died on earth, he was resurrected by God. If it was God who died, which would be impossible, then who could have resurrected him? (Acts 2:24,25)

The Bible also says that Jesus is at God's right hand in the heavens. He is not God. (Acts 2:33-36)

At John 14:28, Jesus himself said: "the Father is greater than I am." Also showing that Jesus is not God and that God is superior to him. And Jesus is a different, seperate person from God, as John chapter 5 shows. In verse 19 of John chapter 5, Jesus said: "Most truly I say to you, the Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative,".

We cannot exactly be like Jesus because he was perfect, he had no sin.(Hebrews 4:14,15) But as 1 Peter 2:21 says that he left "a model for you to follow his steps closely." So we can do our best to be like him, although we are imperfect. Our Creator requires us to only do our best. He knows we are imperfect. (Psalm 103:8-14; Colossians 3:23)

We will never be like him because of sin, but we should try to live our lives in a Christ-like manner. Why did you write this (to inspire, irritate, fill with despair or amusement. It does none of these things to me because I know that I will live every day of my life to do good things so that I can be in the stars. I am not perfect and I do things that are not right, but God is forgiving if you ask for forgiveness and don't keep repeating your sins.

The bible says, Jesus is the image of the invisible God (the Spirit) for through him, by him and for him all was created.

The bible also says, in the begining was the word and the word became flesh---- Jesus is the word.

If mankind makes it another thousand years i will be shocked. At this rate it seems unlikely mankind will see 2107 much less 3007.

Regardless of your background beliefs, one thing you can look forward to is the answer to man squestion. Death is not escapable, so the answer awaits us all. Just make sure you were on the right tisde of it before you get there.

Peace!
Christ's divinity is shown over and over again in the New Testament.
John 5,18 - Opponents of Jesus try to kill him because he called God his Father making himself equal to God.
John 8,58 - when asked about his knowledge of Abraham he said, before Abraham was "I AM" thus applying to himself the personal name of God - "I Am" (Exodus 3,14).
John 20,28 - Thomas falls at the feet of Jesus, exclaiming, "My Lord and my God." If Jesus was not God, he would have corrected Thomas.
Philippians 2,6 - St. Paul tells us that Jesus "who, being in the very nature of God, did not deem EQUALITY with God something to be grasped."
Romans 9,5 - St. Paul is in great sadness and anguish because of the Jews' unbelief, "from their race Jesus was born, he who as God is above all distinctions. Blessed be He forever and ever: Amen!"
Jesus is God because he:
Silenced a typhoon
Walked on water
Turn water into wine
Bring back dead people to life
Multiplied a few loaves of bread and some fishes to feed 5,000 people.
Healed the sick, the lame and the blind
ROSE FROM THE DEAD.
These miracles prove that Jesus had power over the forces of nature and life. Only a God can have those powers. Jesus is the best proof that there is a God.
God bless

I think it's a beautiful question. I hope that in a thousand years in remembrance of Jesus of Nazareth we will be kind to each other. Hey! We could do that now!

Jesus Christ was a human and self proclaimed God.
Fact is he was the founder of the Christian Religion (named for him). Throughout history there have been hundreds of thousands of humans who claimed to be a Prophet or a God. Jesus referred to his followers as sheep and rightfully so.
All of these Prophets (or Gods) have died. Many have left us with the religions they founded, ie: Lutherans, Mormons, Muslims, Branch Davidians, Moonies, Buddhists, Hindus, Jews, etc. etc. etc.

Jesus is God, when he was ressurected he was able to attain the Gloriness that He's father has, it was a promised given to Jesus when He was here on earth fulfilling His duty.
if He is not a God then what a Man, will a man/human save as, does a man have what takes to save humanity, have you found at least one here on earth what God can?
Jesus is God but of course we still have our Heavenly Father for they are different personage, but one in purpose, next time you asked that question, think of your self first, "Who shall save me in the last days?"......

Jesus was God in the flesh. To claim that Jesus was just a mere man diminishes the sacrifice He made for us. A mere man cannot atone for the sins of all who believe in Him.

To claim Jesus was only a man is to also place ourselves on a level playing field with Him, and if God judges us accordingly, could anyone measure up to the high standard set by Jesus? I know I couldn't. Based on our own merit, if we were able to achieve the high standard Jesus set, if we were able to attain the same perfection in God's eyes on our own, then what was the purpose of His sacrifice? Was it in vain? No!

To recognize that Jesus was fully God and fully man is to humble ourselves and regognize that we can never measure up. We cannot earn out way into Heaven; we are not good enough to stand before a Holy God based on our own merit. We will fail the test every time. It is only by grace, through our faith in Christ that we are counted worthy, because He alone is worthy.

But don't just take my word for it. All throughout scripture, Jesus claimed equality with God.

---------Scripture References----------

In John 10:30, Jesus claims, "I and the Father are one.”

Why do you think the Jews tried to stone Him after saying this?

"Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, 'I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?'

'We are not stoning you for any of these,' replied the Jews, 'but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, CLAIM TO BE GOD.'" -John 10:31-33

Throughout scripture, Jesus claims to possess the very attributes of God. For example, He claimed:

1) Omniscience by telling Peter, "This very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times" (Matthew 26:34);

2) Omnipotence by not only resurrecting Lazarus (John 11:43) but by raising Himself from the dead (see John 2:19)

3) Omnipresence by promising He would be with His disciples "to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:20).

Jesus also claimed the authority to forgive sins, a prerogative reserved for God alone. In Luke 5:20, Jesus said to the paralytic, "Friend, your sins are forgiven."

Also...

"For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one." -1 John 5:7

I do not believe the earth will be around in the next 1000 years. because I studied astronomy, I know that earth could survive until our sun becomes a red giant whick is like millions of years later but, I believe Jesus is coming back before that.
