Dude, you're 17... It's time for your parents to start respecting your decisions. So you know, they may be right, but that doesn't matter. The point is that they need to give you credit and allow you to make your own choices. Try to explain that to them and if they don't understand, well... it's really their problem, not yours. Good Luck!!!

3 years at that age is NOT a big difference. 17 dating a 14 year old is different. 17 dating a 20 year old?? NOT a big deal. you are almost 18, almost a LEGAL adult. to what you want. of COURSE mommy and daddy are gonna be worried, they are the ones that raised you to be an adult, but see, they have to realize SOME DAY that you are gonna be an adult and can make your own decisions. some parents just take a long time to realize this. hell, i'm 23 and my parents are still "oh my gosh, you did that? why did you get that tattoo? you should just be freinds with that girl! why did you feel you had to spend the night at that girl's house the first night?" it's normal.

well three years isn't that big of a gap, even though 17 and 20 is alot different from say 27 and 24 from a maturity stand point. I'm sure you're feelings are strong for her, but you are still young and you shouldn't completly disown your parents because they're simply doing what they feel is best for you. All that being said, stay with her, you're going to be a legal adult in less than a year so they really wont have any meaningful arguments against you guys so just tough it out.

I don't know your situation, so it's hard to say exactly what to do. Like the first person said, you should try to talk with everyone and involve your girlfriend and your parents together. Try to be patient with your parents. If they see that your relationship is a mature one that can really last, then they will feel better about it.

My fiance and I are 4 years apart. I met him when he was 17 and I was 21, but we didn't start dating until he was 19. It was a little weird for everyone at first, but now both our families are happy.

It has been said a million times. Love knows no boundaries nor can it tell age..On the other side "honor thy mother and father".Love has a funny way of working things out.Follow your heart it will always lead you in the right direction.Tell your parents that you are not disobeying them but following your heart .If this was meant to be ,it will be.

Honor your parents, you're basically under their roof and this girl is an adult, you're still a minor. She could go to jail just for dating you!! So if you care about her and you care about your parents, just listen to them for once and s-a-c-r-i-f-i-c-e in the name of "love," if you will. Perhaps wait another year and see how you feel then. Chances are, this lust will pass and you'll probably be seeing someone completely different.

Well my guy is 23 years younger than me. We liked eachother but waited untill he turned 18 to get together, we have been in a happy healthy relationship for almost 2 and1/2 years. His parents are getting use to it since they see how happy he is. I dont play games like younger girls and am very responsable and that helps. Waite untill you turn 18 then do as you wish it is your life. Good luck and hang in there it is worth the waite!!

if it's true love, you'll strive to do the best for her & your family. if you can live up to this expectation, then you're parents won't have anything against you.
