We have advanced human knowledge too far to accommodate such superstitions as penned by men who were largely ignorant of their world. You need to use that brain of yours to apply some logical, enlightened thought on the subject of religion. You need to realise that your religions are written by self-serving MEN as a means to CONTROL people and heighten their own – and their churches' – position of power. I don't know about you but the thought of someone being humiliated, tortured and brutally murdered does not fill me with joy. It's not my fault nor is it my responsibility that he was killed, so I'm sorry but that little guilt trip is not going to work.
I also completely reject the harmful idea of "sin", that we are all born imperfect -- that we are by nature dirty and sick creatures, who are incapable of being "good" in our natural state. Our best-laid plans will go to waste, and all our good intentions will turn to rot and dust. In essence, you are telling everyone that they are born worthless. I find that sickening.
