Look up some of Claude Lorraine's paintings. Movement in the sky such as clouds or sunset conjures up those words not simply air . In the complete stillness of Lorraine's skies one really feels the space and air.
I am trying to think of another artist Turner perhaps but his skies are a bit dramatic to evoke just air.
Technically quite difficult to paint you will have to see that all is spotlessly clean and your paints are premixed starting with the lightest tones first
