My dog is the cutest. He is loved by everyone. Now, everyone who visits knows that they must bring a treat. A friend came over and brought an egg sandwich to munch on during her visit. My baby dog got into my friends bag and pulled out the bowl, took the cover off the bowl, and ate the sandwich. Can he go to jail? Be silly with this one, silly but clean please.

First things first #1who witnessed the alleged act of your dog allegedly getting the container out of your friend's Handbag? Ask the neighbors you have if any strangers were seen in the vicinity of your neighborhood at the time of the alleged theft of the egg sandwich. #2 Was the police contacted after the fact of the alleged sandwich napping? Were finger/ paw prints taken off the the container or DNA tests conducted to see if saliva found on the container was that of the defendant? Circumstantial evidence will not hold up in a court of law. Did the alleged victim really have the sandwich in her possesion, or could she have possibly left it at home or had it snatched from her possesion ,say during a stop at the local gas station? Question is ,was she absolutely sure the egg sandwich was in her possesion when she entered the residence of the alleged defendant? If all this is presented to the officer"s responding to this alledged crime and the threat of a false arrest lawsuit from lack of probable cause I am sure your canine companion will remain to be able to avoid arrest. Although the officer's involved ,along with the detective's involved in investigating the alleged theft might require that your "cutsy" remain in town or let them know if he should or might be leaving the state for any length of time

I believe that there has been a precedent set with this. In the people of New Jersey vs Clifford the Big Red Dog it was deemed illegal for Clifford to devour the Oscar Mayer weinermobile. Clifford is currently serving 15 dog years for destruction of property as well as theft, and must pay restitution. On a side note, Emily Elizabeth Howard, Clifford's owner, was cited in a nationwide lawsuit for failing to clean up after her pet.

No your dog can not be arrested. Neither can you. Animals and children get special passes from the law.

However, if you can't control him from "looking for a treat" when you are taking him for a walk outside your house, it's a different story.

If you allow your dog to approach people passing by and he goes looking for a treat and not on purpose but accidently bites someone then it's a different story. Action can be taken against you. You can also be sued. Your dog will be taken away and quaranteened until a vet clears him. He probably won't be destroyed, but there is a very small possibility that he could be.

If he does it twice, you will be ordered not to let him leave your property.

If it happens a third time, he will likely be put down.

Yes he will. He will have to go to puppy prison (egg sandwich theft is a class 1 furlenony in the Court of Paw, plus he may be charged with excessive use of cuteness), and then he will just have to hope that he doesn't get locked up with a German Shepherd named Fluffy!!!

How are they going to get a mug shot and finger prints? I would deny that the dog ate the sandwich and throw your friend out

According to penal code 12345678.9, egg salad sandwich thievery is not only illegal, but punishable to the fullest extent of the law. You better find him a good attorney...someone that will work for Greenies. Hopefully, he doesn't end up with a Mastiff cellmate named Molly.

You better beleive it honey! They will haul him away paws linked together and all! But the question is will he look good in orange? Will the other k-9 culprits be standing in line to clean his ears (thats how my bosses pugs show affection way cleaner than what some would put on here). Send him plenty of frontline! I wish him luck!
