For two days my foot has been throbbing in pain. On the bottom, front heal i guess you could call it. The pain goes across the bottom of my foot. It feels kinda hard and looks slightly swollen. I'm wondering if its infected, so does anyone know anyways to make something like this feel better. Like soaking it in water? Thank you

It felt fine when I woke up this morning, but then hurt again once I started walking.

Without an x-ray, it's hard to tell, and I can only guess.

If there is no external damage, then we'll say this is internal. ( Makes sense, right? )

You could possibly have a bone spur, a bone chip, excessive calcium deposits or something similar to that. If you're getting some swelling, I'd say that could possibly be the case.

If the problem went from your heel back to your achilles tendon, I'd go more with achilles tendonitis, but if it's forward in your heel, then I might rule that out.

If you stepped on something while barefoot, you could have possibly deep bruised the tissue. In that case, you could soak your foot in warm/hot water with epsom salts a few times per day and see if that relieves the inflamation. If not, step back 10 and punt.

I'm seriously doubting you have an infection, unless you did something like step on a nail or something. If that was so, you would see external injury to that area, extreme redness, and that area becoming filled with infection (pus).

Try soaking the foot. If that does not relieve the inflamation in a day or so, then I suggest going to a podiatrist and having them x-ray it. If it's bone spurs or chips, you're going to need them removed. Once they do, you're going to be very pleased with the results.

Best wishes!

Maybe you have a heel spur. Pieces of bone chip and it is very painful. I would ask your Dr for an x-ray just to be sure. I would rub your feet with something mentholated and keep them elevated if possible to stop swelling.

Is it worse after rest?

If so it is probably plantar fascitis.

Rest and ice it.

Once it is calmed down you can start to stretch the gastroc muscles, (calf).
