Re. Gen. 1. When did God create the angels? Obviously before "The Creation Week?" I've heard that, "In the Beginning" is not the literal translation of Gen 1:1, but it really means, "In a beginning..." Any profound comments on these thoughts?

There is no discussion of why Lucifer is no longer in Heaven and where the angels come from in Genesis. There is also an issue with the Creation of man on the sixth day and then again on the eighth. The best explanation of this is translation. The literal translation was in fact, "In a beginning..." and until the eighth day the word used for "God" is Elohim (plural) and on the eighth day Genesis starts using Yahweh Elohim (a specific one).
After numerous translations under the influence of the powerful and corrupt Church of the past, the literal sanctity of the text is sadly compromised.

First of all, the "week" in Genesis was more than likely not the 7 days we know it to be now. We don't know who the author of Genesis is - some say Moses; and we don't know how time was reckoned in those days. Also, we have to appreciate the mythic nature of the Creation story.

Angels? Well, it seems they were around before God made everything. I don't know. There's no reference to pre-Creation angels in the Bible.

Not quite sure when the angels were created. Seemingly before the beginning of the Universe. Hmmm, that would seem to mean they were created in Eternity.

As for the meaning of Genesis 1 and Genesis 1:1 have a look at:

You can't compare how we would decern the word beginning as God would since our knowledge of time differs from God's, a day to God is as a thousand years to us. And concerning his days of creation, who really knows what he considered a day. Jesus was the beginning of all creation, the very first creation, and he spent eons with his Father before all else came into existence, and everything with the exception of Jesus was brought into existence through Jesus.

Angels were in existence before humans. I.E. satan was once an angel before he fell from grace. May God Bless U.

The story is total fiction. Any resemblance between the biblical tale of creation and the facts is purely coincidental.
