IMO animal cruelty ranks right up there with child abuse. Neither one can usually defend themselves and it is always someone bigger that is doing the abusing.

This is a question i have trouble with. Im glad you asked because i am interested in reading the answers. The question is do they think, feel, have deep emotions and are those emotions powerful enough to warrant spirit and life-force (soul)

I'm Christian, and I believe they have a soul. Not the same as people, but SOME kind of a soul.

Mostly because this belief, and, many others, are not supported in the Bible, and are believed by those who do not read their Bibles very well even though they profess to, if they did study, the Bible, they ,would know that God hates those who love and live violence.God hates violence and cruelty and encourages love to his servants.

Which Christians are you referring to ? I believe that God created all things spiritually before they were created physically. Of course they have souls, or spirits.

Animals do not have souls - just mere 'being' or existence. God did not send His Son Jesus Christ to die on on the cross for animals, but for humans who are created in the image of God.

Im a mormon christian and we MOST definently believe that Animals have souls and they actually leave in heaven peacfully!!! ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN......DDUUHHHH
