I have never been a smoker, so don't know have personal experience with that. But I do have experience of having lost 30 pounds since July, and I say you need to keep busy -- and I don't mean busy eating or putting things (like food and snacks) in your mouth. Also, keep your mind busy. Taking up walking, staying busy outdoors as much as possible, and you could even have a strategy of doing 25 push-ups, or 50 jumping jacks, every time you find yourself putting the wrong food in your mouth!

My personal eating habits are to always eat breakfast and lunch, and maybe no dinner, or a very light dinner. Also, I personally don't eat breakfast until 9am, lunch near 1 or 2, and go from there. I do have a snack between each meal, and drink plenty of water to keep you hydrated, especially since you've been a smoker.

Regarding sweets, there are several products I buy that are really good ... both Jell-O gelatin and pudding with Splenda are sugar-free, and about 60 calories per cup; also sugar-free frozen popsicles, or make your own with Crystal Lite.

Good luck to you, I'll be thinking about you! Stopping smoking is the BEST thing you could every do for yourself -- I'm very proud of you.

Since most people crave a cigarette after eating, try going for a walk at that time. It will help retrain your brain towards a new activity besides smoking, and exercize acts as an appetite suppressant.

Good luck in quitting.
