Try to find an alternative to cutting. If you do it because of stress try exercising. It also relieves stress and is healthy. Try finding a hobby that you enjoy and can incorporate others.

I've been there man, maybe not to that level, but the best advice i can give you is just to force yourself, when you get the urge to cut, to just put the knife away and walk in the other direction. Go for a walk and just breath deeply until the urge passes. You have to look yourself in the mirror every morning and tell yourself that you can stop, that you don't need to cut yourself and eventually you'll believe it( and also maybe some other positive things-it'll make you feel better trust me).You CAN heal yourself you just need to believe you can. and if after trying all these things, nothing has worked you should definetly look into finding a therapist to help u through it , or rehab which is also a good option.

I had a problem with that also. I didn't feel like the people we were paying to go and see were helping me any. Then about a week after the last time I did it I went to go and donate blood and the lady said to me that I had to wait a year to be able to do that. I always liked trying to help people and when she said that I couldn't help someone because of it I just knew that I had to stop.
I know that you aren't going to be in the same situation, but I haven't hurt myself in over a year and a half now and I am actually feeling much better knowing that I have the power to say no I will not and find another means. Like taking a walk or hoping in the shower or just finding someone to vent to.
So, just try to find another means of letting it out. You will feel much better when you have gotten to that point where you know that you don't need it.

You definatley need some help. You first need to talk to your parents and address the issue with them. Obviously they know you are doing it, if they have sent you to counselors, but you need to tell them that you need more help than that. You can try asking your counselor for the places you are asking about, but I don't know of any IN nebraska. I would try... Self-Mutilators Anonymous (link below). They have online meetings. You need to speak to your parents or guardians about your desire to get into a group home/rehabilitation kind of setting. You have had counseling so I assume they know of your problem. Just looking for a facility might give you more stress than you need right now.
I applaud your looking for help. I started at 14, and it is a battle that cannot always be fought alone, but it can be conquered. Good luck to you.

you have to deal with the things in your life that are making you want to cut yourself to relieve the stress/pain.
if youve been doing this since you were ten, there must have been something in your childhood that caused you alot of pain or sadness and stress..you can't ignore your problem because they will manifest through self mutilation...some people use drugs/alcohol this is your way of dealing. councelors can only help you as much as you let them. i think your on the right track with looking for a rehab that will help..good luck.

im a cutter of 6 years and yes i think a rehabilitation center would work wonders just try to look up places close to you..good luck!

I used to cut my skin with razor blades when I was in high school. I stopped when I got put on an antidepressant. Have you seen a medical doctor? The best thing would be a psychiatrist who is used to working with adolescents.

i have the same problem, and it is very hard. i have been hospitalized numerous times, but that didn't help, you just have to find something that makes you feel a lot better than when you cut. all the doctors i have seen say to find something that gives you the same feeling as when you cut, but for me i had to find something better, and a lot healthier. i have not cut in about a year.
