So I dyed my hair Light Amber Brown. My natural hair color is dark brown, so not much of a difference. I like the color for now because its not light light, but its still noticable.

The PROBLEM is that I used 1 bottle not realizing that it wasn't gonna be enough. I thought it would but I guess I just have that much hair. So now there are small pieces that are still dark and my roots are lighter then the rest AND the back is still a little dark. Now I'm a bit of a perfectionist and it is annoying the heck out of me that everything is not even. I also don't wanna walk around with a bunch of different shades of browns that are not highlights lol

To me its not that noticable but its just the fact that I know. I'm just afraid if I re-dye it tomorrow...its gonna get lighter.

So the question is that should I go out and buy another bottle do it again or should I just wait till I have to do a touch up and just be annoyed that its not even?

I just want 1 color.

Girl, you can re-color you hair with the same color. The holidays. or areas in back that aren't colored is where I would start. I would have a friend do those areas first and then about five minutes before you are going to rinse it run the rest through. It won't go lighter then the color can go. The reason you are getting lighter by the roots is the warmth of your scalp. It is causing the color to process faster then the colder shaft of the hair. This is why when you go for a lighter color the best thing is to have someone do your color. If you are going darker it doesn't matter but if you are lightening your hair you should go to a professional. The other thing you can do is to go a shade or two darker and apply it all overyour scalp. This will darken the roots and hair and match up the back areas better.

it sounds like you left it on too long you would actually have to color it twice.....back to a darker color and the lighter again to fix the problem..
darker color leave on for longer
and the lighter color less
make sure to apply it to the middle of your hair strands before the ends and roots these areas have a tendency to lighten faster than the rest of your hair.. after you separate you hair and only color the middle of the strands take a spray bottle and lightly mist your hair after that wear gloves and work the color into your roots and down to the tips of your hair
leave it on for thirty minutes and then make sure to do a thorough rinse with Luke warm water...apply a good color preserving conditioner and use an old pillow case that night so your hair color doesn't bleed onto your nice one.

regrettably that's what happens while people do no longer understand precisely how hair colour works. i'm no longer attempting to sound rude in any way! only asserting that it is why hairdressers circulate to college for this. colour does not carry by using colour, so once you place the purple on, it made your new enhance purple yet could no longer regulate the darkish brown tint you had until eventually now executed on the ends. in case you circulate to a expert they could do a corrective colour technique to get your hair to a purple coloration which you're happy with. that may no longer an actual technology and due to this this isn't any longer smart to attempt it at residing house. it might contain bleaching in the process the previous colour and depositing a purple colour over it. it is in lots of situations extremely damaging gazing the difficulty of your hair and how truthfully that previous dye comes out. once you're only keen to attempt it at residing house the only subject i might safely advise is going over your roots with a dismal brown to attempt to even it out. i'm hoping this facilitates!

GO TO A SALON! Too much processing will make your hair melt. It's worth the money to have it fixed professionally,,,or you might just end up bald! i was never quite bald, but I have definitely had my hair melt in my hand & it didnt take much to get to that point!

Good Luck!!!

just dye it a darker colour, like your natural one, wait about 3 weeks to a month then dye it again the colour you want.
