I haven't gotten my W-2 from my employer who I've worked for from Dec. of 2005 to July 2006. Should I have asked for it last year or should I receive it this year? I'm not sure when it should arrive since I started working there at the end of 2005.

Also when is the deadline for tax?

You should have received a W-2 back in January of 2006 for the money you made in Dec. 2005. You will receive one for the work you did from January 2006 - July 2006. By law, the company you worked for has to mail it by January 31st, so you should have it within the next few days. If you haven't received it by mid-February, call the company you worked for and request that they send it. You can also call the IRS and they can send you records on taxes that were paid on your behalf by the company you worked for (assuming they reported your earnings to the IRS as they were supposed to do).

Taxes normally must be post marked by April 15th. This year, however, the 15th falls on a Sunday so you get an extra day. You must mail your taxes to the IRS by midnight on April 16th 2007. If you owe money to the IRS, I recommend waiting until then to mail your forms, but if they owe you money, mail them as soon as you can (or e-file). No point in letting Uncle Sam hold on to your money any longer than necessary.

If you received any paychecks in 2005, then you should have gotten a W-2 last year for that amount. You should get one this year, within the next few days, for whatever pay you got in 2006.

Deadline for filing this year is April 17.

assuming you are still at the same address that your previous has on file, you should have received the W-2 by now. if you dont receive it by the end of this week i would say contact them and ask for another copy to be sent.

the deadline to file your income taxes is April 17th 2007, assuming you dont go on extension.
