I want to burn about 3 or 4 episodes of Rome Season 2 so i can watch them on my DVD player. They are approx. 350MB and in AVi format. I used to use DVD Santa for this but it seem to error out as of lately. Anybody have other suggestions I can use?

Use Nero. You just need to select burn DVD, this will take care of conversion of AVI to DVD format.

If you have the DVD software you should try uninstalling and reinstalling for some reason that works sometimes.

There are also a few plug-ins you can search for that read AVI files. If you have them downloaded in a readable format then I like the program by CyberLink. They have a couple of good ones. Cyberlink Power Producer and Power Director. They're actually designed to edit clips from video cameras into DVD's, but it will read any type of video file. And the cool thing is that with Power Producer you can transfer the file into a Windows Media File or compress it to MPEG1 or MPEG2 or transfer Windows Media into AVI--or you can just burn them straight to disk.

I think "Toast" or Nero may also work but I'm less positive about those programs. There are a number of programs designed to burn files to disk.

There are many DVD converters out there such as Winavi or ConvertxtoDVD. ConvertxtoDVD allows you to create a menu while Winavi coverts faster without any menus.

Hey there,
I've been using Ashampoo for these very special "burning tasks". You can download it for free here http://bitly.com/1sW2sGx
I have been using it for years
