On the back of the movie "Broken Bridges" they have written "the black bars that you are seeing are normal and don't try to adjust your screen" (or something to that effect). Do people actually worry that something is wrong with their tv's now that they have this written?

People are stupid, thats why they tell you not to blow dry your hair in the tub, some idiot actually did stupid things and if they didn't then there would be no need for warning lables... duh

In America especially these warning signs are important, because if there is no sign or label and something happens to the person using the product, they will sue the company! Warning labels are also there sometimes to discourage people from using the product, such as cigarettes. Those type of warning labels are necessary and illegal if not put there!

Yup. I've heard of people panicking for different situations. Or getting hurt cuz they're slack.
As for the warnings on labels and such, it just takes a clumsy opportunist to sue and make corporations spend money on the "Caution: contents may be hot' labels. It drives me nuts, most of that stuff is common sense.

They try to come up with every scenarios where you could hurt yourself with their products, even in the most stupidest way, so you cannot sue them by saying: "I did not know that I could not do that with this, if only they had warned me...".
Just covering their a**.
So whenever you step in your kitchen, wear a pot holder and any illiterate person cannot use anything because all users must read and understand the manuals.

Yes. Most warnings you find on things are there because someone has actually tried/complained about it, and the companies now have to protect themselves from being sued by the idiots that are their customers.
