The other night I was entering to the garage where I keep my vehicles, and when I was passing by my truck (I was driving my car) I saw a lady emptying her purse all over my hood.
I stopped and told her that that wasn't her desk.
She replied to me saying that she was looking for her house keys and she had to do it before she leaved the building.
I told her to go do that over her car's hood or at the guard's office but not over my property.
She sarcastically called me well-mannered guy.
I told her I was obviously a lot more well-mannered than her since I don't go dumping my stuff over other people's cars.
She asked me what was the problem, if I was a maniac over cars or what.
I said I hate to find scratches on my paint (as I did before) and told her to move on and go bugger the guard if she needed a desk.
She even looked at me like I was wrong and she was right.
Was I?

Hello!! :o) Without question - YOU were RIGHT!! That inconsiderate woman was completely in the wrong. Sometimes 'we' [those of us who desire to be considerate and polite] feel that it's being rude to respond somewhat aggressively to a person who has shown themselves to be completely inconsiderate of us. That woman had absolutely no right to use your property for any reason - let alone 'looking for my house keys'. Being polite doesn't mean we have to be a worm. We have a right to stand up for ourselves. Given the circumstances - I'm sure I would have been considerably more aggressive than you were. Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

I hope you were polite in asking her to remove her things. If you weren't, you probably provoked her into staying there and continuing what she was doing. You don't sound like the most tactful person in the world, and getting "into it" with somebody looking for their keys is really kind of a waste of time, don't you think?

You were within your rights to ask her to remove her things from your truck, but it sounds like you didn't do it in a very kind way. That may have been why she persisted. Sorry. Yeah, she violated your property rights, but what can you do? Life goes on.

I agree with you that it's inconsiderate of her to use your car since her things could scratch the hood. However, I believe your way of handling the situation could have been more polite.

You were right in asking her to move her stuff from the hood of your truck, but maybe you sounded aggressive and pissed he off.

She's wrong. Any action that damages other's property is wrong.
