First for some of those that answered. Depression and depressing are two different things!!
Depression can kill. Something just being "depressing" is an inconvenience.
If the job is truly causing you to be in a depression, call your Dr, schedule and appointment, and take a leave if you are able, and/or have FML So that you don't loose your job or your benefits. My job helped bring my depression out more, and I became suicidal and quite ill.
So please seek medical advice!! But don't just quit your job without thinking it completely thru.

Do not make any rash decisions but think first why is this job depressing me? If there is something that can be changed at work then see if it can be changed especially if the job is one you like otherwise. If it is the people who are depressing you or the work itself then find another job but give them notice and be sure this is the answer.
Make sure it is the job that is causing it and that you are not missing a good opportunity cause you are depressed and not handling the job due to that.

A job cannot cause depression but it can cause you stress. It can also trigger your depression that you already have but you can't develop depression because of a situations. This stress that you are having isn't good for you whether you have depression or not. My suggestion is that you stay where you are at so you can pay your bills but quietly look for a job that will make you happy. You need to make yourself happy and enjoy life, it sounds like you can't do this at this particular job.
I myself would talk to my supervisor to see if there's anything they can do to make the job less stressful, if they can't then I would look for other work. Good luck.

yes definately, i did. i had a job that i totally hated and everyday when i went in to work i had bad thoughts and became depressed i even stopped eating for awhile and wound up dehydrated. the people i had to work with were snobby and stuckup and constantly talked about everyone behind their backs. i got so badly depressed i knew that if i stayed there i would wind up in a fight or in the hospital so i started looking for another job while i was still working there and that was the best decision i ever made about a job. things will only get worse if you don't quit

Well i have depression and my doctor wanted me to quit .....so i asked her this ..."how the heck can i pay for my medication if i have no job" ....she said .."good point"
If the doctor and /or your boss feel that ur work performance is lower than normal ...and u can't seem to keep up with the pace ...then sure quit !!
But meds are expensive and being bored sitting around the house will definetely not help your depression at all !! Hope this helps ..and chin up ! Life is BEAUTIFUL !!! : )

Of course, depression is a major illness and any thing that makes any one depressed needs to stop. Especially if its something you spend alot of time at such as a job.

I am sure everyone will say..."sure, quit, a job is not worth it." They say it, but very few would do it. Remember, these people don't pay your bills. I would say you need to shake up things outside of work and try not to make it your entire life. OR, start applying everywhere you can think of, or apply to grad schoo or something.

BUT IF U REALLY NEED A JOB DUE TO MONEY PROBLEMS IN THAT CASE JUST HANG ON TILL YOU FIND A BETTER JOB
BUT IF U DONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS
