I am not diabetic, been tested, get a different answer from doctors saying it's nothing. But, it looks bad, and I have always been able to shave it off with a disposable razor, but, it's gotten so hard, it breaks the razor. It doesn't hurt, and I've tried creams, pedicure things to get callouses and such and nothing helps...what do I do?

If you keep shaving it the skin that will grow will be more tough than the one you just removed. First, you buy a file (those long ones for pedicure) at Walmart, keep it in your shower with a foot scrub. Second, you can buy through Avon the Cracked Heel Cream and use it every night. When they heal, you can use Vaseline every night or any other foot cream to keep them moisturized, and if you wear a lot of sandals, you can use the file after showering at least once a week. That way you will keep your heels nice looking and soft.

Hope it helps.

There is a stone called "pumice" that you can find in some specialty store's and catalogs get one of those and when your feet are completely and totally 100% dry use this stone to rub the dead skin off your heals and then soak your feet in a foot bath with some foot soak solution and then rub this product " Zim's Crack Cream" (can buy at Wal-mart) and cover feet with cotton socks and do this every night until you see improvement then cut back to every other night and so on until your feet look better! You should probably quit trying to shave them with the razor it can't be doing them any good if you still have the problem!! Good Luck!!

It sounds pretty bad so I don't know if this will help you alot but it should help. First Stop Shaveing. That just causes the callouses to grow back thicker, that is the last thing you want (i've been there). If you were any kind of open shoes...stop. I wore flip flops all the time and if makes it so much worst. Bath and Body works Heel of Approval, foot cream! It makes the callouses soft and really moisterises so they go away. It really worked for me. Good Luck!!

Buy a container of Epsom Salts in the drug store. Put pretty warm water in a foot basin, with about a heaping tablespoon of epsom salts in hottish warm water up to your anklesand soak your feet for half an hour or so. Take a piece of pummice stone and when you are through soaking your feet use it to get that softened callous off your soles and heels and etc.
When you are about through, realize that was a good start. Now plan to do it every night or every other night. After awhile of this regime you will have lovely uncalloused feet. Now use aloe vera gell or some kind of creme on them.

I had this problem too and here is what worked for me: KERASAL cream! It is a bit expensive ($7 a tube--lasts for 7 days), but in 7 days your heels will be soft. Really! You can buy it in any drugstore, Walmart, Rite aid, it is with the foot cream & lotions.

After your heels are smooth, use a pumice once or twice a week or use Kerasal a couple of times a week to keep them that way.

Good Luck! I was surprised how painful cracked heels can be. :-(

Take a bath not a shower. This really works. Also drink at least 8 eight ounce glasses of water daily. Put vaseline on your feet and wear with white cotton socks until the feet are healed. Read about the many uses of water to help rehydrate the body. Also, try reading this book: you're not sick, you're thirsty. You will be amazed how drinking water helps heal the body naturally. Also read on the web about apple cider vinegar.

first, bathe your feet with hot water, soap or lotions to soften the callous...then dry them off...never try to remove the callous till you soften it...Rite Aid has a safety razor that is designed for the callouses of your feet called Solingen, Made in Germany... it is totally safe BUT Never try to remove ALL the callous or you will get down to the raw skin & cause a cut...
been using it for years....
Oh, yes, use a heel softening cream as others have suggested.
good luck -

You need to soak your feet in warm soapy water and then use a pumice stone weekly on the area. At night rub plain old vaseline aka petroleum jelly on the heels and then put white socks on and go to bed.

Get a professional pedicure. To maintain it, rub your feet nightly with Vaseline petroleum jelly and wear white sports socks to bed.
