The question is a little vague but I think maybe you're looking for respiration, or cellular respiration, the process by which an organism converts oxygen and pyruvic acid to carbon dioxide and water.

C6H12O6 + 6O2 ---> 6CO2 + 6H2O

well from the trees we breathe in oxygen and then as we inhale new air we exhale old air which has been stored up known as carbon dioxide.
